HISTORY OF THE SAFE ON CAMPUS PEER EDUCATION PROGRAM
The SOC Peer Education Program uses college peer educators to educate high school students about some of the obstacles they may face once they reach college. The program focuses on the dangers of alcohol abuse and sexual assault, giving high school students necessary awareness of campus crime.
Since its inception in May 2004, SOC/PEP has reach over 15,000 high school students and has partnered with over 400 college peer educators!
The effectiveness of the Peer Education Program is contingent on the unique relationship the college students are able to build with the high school students while educating them on these important, life-saving topics.
THE FUTURE OF SOC PEER EDUCATION PROGRAM
Our goal is to spread the program regionally in Chicago, Northern California, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania and beyond! Eventually we aspire to launch the program nationally developing partnerships with college peer education programs throughout the country.
PLEASE CONTACT SECURITY ON CAMPUS, INC. IF YOUR COLLEGE OR HIGH SCHOOL WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM!
